Maybe you’re just in town or continuing your journey on exploring Trainspotting famous scenes. There is no excuse not to want a tattoo from Glasgow. Especially since the tattoo artists here are not too shabby - they have varying styles, backgrounds, and aesthetics for you to choose from, so we do not doubt that you can find a perfect tattooist fit for yourself.

Richard Richardson

If you are a type of person that is attracted to simple, yet not minimalistic designs, Richard Richardson may be the tattoo artist for you. With an impressive following of more than 10 thousand on his social media platforms, Richard is an artist to look for in Glasgow. Often drawing inspiration from nature, he produces in a sense simplistic designs. We say ‘in a sense’ because his artistry is not effortless, yet gives an impression of simplicity. Most of his work seems seamless; all lines and dots look like they are meant to be there. Naturally, his shadow work aligns with the designs beautifully, creating a magnificent illustrative art. Even though we mentioned the most of his work draws inspiration from nature, you will find that his semi-realistic style offers versatility with almost all possible designs. Let it be comic-inspired, or one of the classic circular compositions, a unique spin is guaranteed.

If you are interested in getting tattooed by this tattoo artist in Glasgow, you can find him in a studio called Hepcat on High street.

Kym Munster

Serving colour and one of a kind designs is no other than Glasgow’s tattooists, Kym Munster. Tattooing from 2009, Kym has gathered quite a reputation for herself. Her style can be described as when nature meets watercolour. Her designs are often large and captivating, ranging from high-detail to some degree of minimalism (as much as watercolour can allow with tattoo artistry). With some of her designs having no solid lines, the detail comes through her colour work, establishing Kym’s practices as a show of craftsmanship. Although we are big fans of her colour work, it wouldn’t be fair if we do not mention her other side - black and white designs. This side of the artwork varies more by the detail rather than in tones. Some are fully shaded, realistic tattoos, while others are fine line, and simplistic. One of our favourites of this artist’s work is how they transform kids’ drawings into tattoos.

If you are charmed by her, you can find her tattooing in Memento Mori Tattoos.

Kevin Younger

Tattooing since 2003, this tattooist in Glasgow is synonymous with the city he tattoos in. Not only does he own a studio called Lucky Cat Tattoo parlour, but he is also a personal tattooist to a Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro. One can guess that an artist’s like that reputation is impeccable, so the waiting lists could be long as well. That is entirely understandable when you get to know this tattooist’s style. The most fantastic thing about his tattoos is that you would not have guessed that the same person did all of them. Their methods differ from your traditional tattoos, to geometric, to realism, to fine lines, to a more of a cartoon style. And believe us, the list only goes on. The saying jack of all trades, but master of none does not apply to Kevin. He is a master of all trades, a jack of none. Although on his parlour’s site, it says that Kevin excels most in black and grey, Japanese, and traditional tattoos. So, if you want to get tattooed by Glasgow’s best, Kevin Younger is the tattooist for you.
